Delete your account

Last updated:

Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your Trailtold account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — only the store can do that. If you delete without cancelling, the store keeps billing you and you get nothing for it, because the account it paid for is gone.Cancel in the App Store or Google Play, then come back and delete.

Purchases do not come back. Deleting your account forfeits everything you bought under it — subscriptions and park packs alike. "Restore purchases" will not recover them on a new account, and we can't re-grant them.

In the app: open Profile, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account, and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There's no undo and no grace period.

Deleting from the app

  1. If you have a subscription, cancel it first — in the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). We cannot cancel it for you, and deleting your account will not stop the billing.
  2. Open Trailtold and make sure you're signed in.
  3. Go to the Profile screen.
  4. Tap Delete account, below Sign out.
  5. Read the confirmation and confirm.

Your data is removed and you're signed out straight away. If something goes wrong partway through, the app will ask you to try again — retrying is safe and will finish the job rather than doing anything twice.

If you can't sign in

If you've lost access to your account and can't use the in-app flow, email[email protected] from the address your account uses and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm the request before deleting anything, and we'll confirm again once it's done.

What gets deleted

Everything below is removed permanently:

Once deletion finishes, your display name and your posts are gone from the app entirely: they no longer appear in feeds, on place pages, or on tour reviews for anyone.

What doesn't get deleted

Being straight with you about the limits:

Note that your location was never stored on our servers in the first place, so there's nothing of that kind to delete. See theprivacy policy for how that works.

Afterwards

You're welcome to sign up again with the same email address. It will be a brand new, empty account — nothing is restored, and your old contributions don't come back.

Nothing you bought comes back. Deleting your account forfeits your purchases permanently — this is the most important thing to understand before you delete.

Your account is identified to our purchase-tracking provider by a random ID that is issued once and never reissued. A new account gets a new ID, so it is a different customer with an empty purchase history: "Restore purchases" finds nothing to restore, whatever email address you sign up with. We can't re-grant purchases by hand either.
